Don is a Patent and Intellectual Property Lawyer who obtained his BA LLB Degrees at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and wrote the Bar exams in the . His work experience include the following:

  • being President of the Pretoria Chamber of Commerce
  • served on various ASSOCOM sub-committees
  • he was elected to, and still serves on the Paris International Chamber of Commerce
  • he served as the previous President of the Licensing Executive Society (SA)
  • he has served on the Credit Committee of Investec, now serves on the Credit Committee of IDC
  • he was Founder Chairman of the Lawyers for Human Rights movement in Pretoria
  • he served as National President for the Round Table movement and was also elected to the world governing body and was the founder of Round Table
  • he was invited to set up Get Ahead Foundation, and worked in Soweto (and other townships) for 15 years with other fellow directors including Dr Nthato Motlana, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and other community leaders. Get Ahead focused on creating jobs in the informal sector, and through its micro credit programme and its training initiatives, it has created thousands of jobs to date
Don is currently consultant for Edward Nathan corporate lawyers, Adams & Adams intellectual property lawyers as well as for the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
