David Williams
Operations Manager
David Williams is a vastly experienced print journalist and radio and TV broadcaster, covering business and financial issues as well as building a reputation as one of SA’s leading sports analysts. For 18 of the past 25 years he has worked fulltime for Financial Mail, where he has edited every section of the magazine at some point, and he has served for the past few years as Deputy Editor. Along the way he has had stints as Communications Director at Wits University (two years) and SA Breweries Ltd (five years).
In his writing David has focused on editorial comment, political economy, investment, governance, railways, education and military affairs. His radio experience includes a decade on Radio 702's John Berks morning show. For the past six years he has been the regular presenter for Summit TV's nightly "Face to Face" programme, and in that time he has done some 2500 interviews with CEOs of major listed companies and leading economists.
David has recently been appointed by King Edward VII School, his alma mater, to run their Foundation and more broadly to promote the cause of public education in SA. He will continue to write and broadcast on business and politics, and is much in demand as a media trainer for senior executives, and as a conference facilitator and speaker. He has published several books on sport and military history, including "On the Border", an account of the war in Namibia and Angola in the 1970s and 1980s.
